Programs

Mother to Mother Mother to Mother
It originally launched as a health and nutrition education framework in which mothers with paraprofessional training assist their peers and provide support in parenting. The Palestinian communities in general suffer from a lack of services in the field of preschool education and a dramatic shortage of qualified personnel. But it is also the parents who lack important information regarding the upbringing of children. The Mother-to-Mother program supports them in fulfilling their role adequately.
Mother to Mother
This program enables mothers to become familiar with the essentials of early childhood development processes. After the training the mothers pass on their newly acquired knowledge to other women in their neighbourhood with the guidance of the Trust’s staff members. The program also strengthens mothers within their social context and encourages them to commit themselves to community work. The program is culturally oriented, the materials given are in Arabic and written according to the needs of Palestinian Arab community, in addition to the children’s nursery rhymes come from the Arabic culture. The program is modular in nature, its different dimensions are: - Paraprofessional training for mothers who become supervisors. - Home visiting where the supervisors visit their peers at their home. - Group supervision at the Trust of Programs. - Couples group supervision. The program has proved to become a base to family intervention and women empowerment programs, as many family and women programs stemmed from the mother to mother program. This year the mother-to-mother program in Ramla was disseminated to Lod, Haifa and Akko followed the need assessment we conducted last year in the mixed city, in addition to the adoption of the program by the RAA in Essen-Germany, in order to improve the integration of the Arab emigrants to the city.
